FAST-PATCH
The FAST-PATCH electrode system was introduced in the mid 1980s to serve as the electrodes for the LP200 series of AADs and soon became the de-facto standard for hands-free defibrillation for all LP products until the introduction of the QUIK-COMBO system. With the introduction of the EDGE system in the late 90s, FAST-PATCH electrodes were redesigned with the EDGE system and renamed the FAST-PATCH Plus.
FAST-PATCH electrodes remained popular even after the QUIK-COMBO system was introduced. Production of FAST-PATCH Plus electrodes continued into the ’10s as many hospitals and agencies still used legacy devices or FP therapy cables with newer equipment. For example, the LP9 series remained popular with lower budget hospitals and the LIFEPAK 500, 12, and 20, despite being designed for the QUIK-COMBO system, had options for a FAST-PATCH adapter if a customer so pleased.
FAST-PATCH electrodes are oval shaped with a connector post at the bottom that serves as a connection post to a therapy cable.
FAST-PATCH Plus electrodes use the EDGE system and are rectangular with connector posts in the middle of the electrode. The Plus electrodes continued production until around 2009.
